VLF-EM

VLF-EM16 and VLF-EM16R

VLF-EM can provide rapid electromagnetic (EM) data at low cost. This survey method has been regaining popularity in the past few years in several gold camps. These highly transportable instruments use VLF frequencies from powerful military transmitters to detect shallow conductors related to faults, lithological contacts, alteration and sulfide mineralization. Ground Level's equipment includes Geonics VLF-EM16 or Gem GSM-19. A separate portable Geonics transmitter is available for the Geonics Receiver for certain target orientations. Data can be interpreted using profiles, Fraser filter, imaging and inversion software. The VLF-EM16R incudes two electrodes and an attachment for the VLF-EM16 unit to measure resistivity. The combined units are ideal for mapping resistive alteration zones and mineralized quartz veins.

VLF-EM16 and VLF-EM16R

Equipment includes Geonics VLF-EM16 or Gem GSM-19.

The VLF-EM16 Receiver is a well known, simple to use and very effective indtrument. A separate portable transmitter is available for certain target orientations. The GEM GSM-19 allows the surveyor to collect magnetic and VLF data simultaneously. All VLF data can be interpreted using profiles, Fraser filter, imaging and inversion software. The VLF-EM16R incudes two electrodes and an attachment for the VLF-EM16 unit to measure resistivity. The combined units are ideal for mapping resistive alteration zones and mineralized quartz veins.
